Doris Lessing, an author of over 50 books, Doris is regarded as one of the most important writers of the twentieth century. She once shared a farm with 40 felines. Her books An Old Woman And Her Cat, The Old Age of El Magnifico and Particularly Cats are a collection of such tales (and tails). Among those featured were orange tomcat Rufus, intelligent General Butchkin and the enormous, three-legged El Magnifico.
